CEBU CITY — The Sugbu Chinese Heritage Museum served as a hub for dialogue and collaboration as it recently hosted a special briefing with leaders from both the public and private sectors. The event was marked by the presence of Mayor-elect Nestor Archival, alongside representatives from cultural, business, and community institutions, who gathered to hear about the museum’s upcoming plans and exhibitions.

The briefing provided a platform for the museum to present its vision of creating programs and exhibitions that not only safeguard Cebu’s rich Chinese heritage but also connect broader communities to cultural narratives that continue to shape the city.

“Museums are not just spaces for display—they are spaces for dialogue, memory, and identity,” the Sugbu Chinese Heritage Museum team emphasized during the presentation. “Through our exhibitions, we hope to strengthen the ties that bind communities and inspire younger generations to appreciate and preserve their heritage.”

Mayor-elect Archival expressed his support for initiatives that advance cultural heritage, noting that partnerships between government, private institutions, and cultural organizations remain vital in ensuring that Cebu continues to honor its diverse history while moving toward progress.

Beyond outlining exhibition plans, the gathering became an affirmation of the growing support for cultural initiatives in the city. Attendees exchanged ideas on how heritage spaces can play a more active role in education, tourism, and community development.

The museum extended its gratitude to all partners and guests who joined the event, underscoring the collaborative spirit that fuels its mission.

“Daghang salamat to all our partners and guests who continue to walk with us in this journey. Together, we build spaces where history lives on,” the museum statement added.

The Sugbu Chinese Heritage Museum continues to position itself as a cultural hub dedicated to preserving Cebu’s Chinese heritage while fostering connections across communities. With its upcoming exhibitions and programs, it aims to spark conversations, create meaningful learning experiences, and ensure that history remains alive for generations to come.
